Halesworth Fen Meadow
Sizewell C is establishing a new nature reserve called Wild Halesworth in the vicinity of Blyth Road, Halesworth.
Habitat creation work within the 0.49ha former improved pasture will start this autumn with earthworks to re-establish natural drainage. Works are scheduled to take 4-6 weeks subject to weather conditions. Green hay collected from other local nature reserves will be spread across the site from next summer.
Wild Halesworth is one of a number of nature reserves being created by Sizewell C to help compensate for unavoidable land-take from Sizewell Marshes Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and deliver 19% Biodiversity Net Gain.
